“बुरा न मानो होली है – पर बुरा मानो अभियान

Asian Bridge India organized a बुरा मानो होली है – पर बुरा मानो अभियान” awareness program with youth in Varanasi to promote a safe, respectful, and responsible celebration of Holi. The activities were conducted on 27 February 2026 at Pakki Bazar Kachari and Kashiram Awas under the Youth for Equality Initiative Program. The campaign aimed to build awareness among young people about celebrating festivals in a way that respects the dignity, consent, and feelings of others.

During the programs, 80 young participants from the community came together to discuss the true meaning and social message of Holi. Facilitators explained that Holi is not only a festival of colors but also a symbol of love, harmony, equality, and mutual respect. The discussions focused on how celebrations should bring people together rather than create situations where someone feels uncomfortable, disrespected, or harmed.

As part of the campaign, the message बुरा मानो होली है – पर बुरा मानो” was shared with the youth. Participants discussed the importance of respecting consent and avoiding behaviors that may be offensive or hurtful. They were encouraged not to apply colors forcefully, avoid abusive language or inappropriate comments, refrain from teasing or harassment in the name of fun, and respect the feelings of others if they express discomfort.

The program concluded with a symbolic celebration where participants applied colors  to one another with mutual consent, shared traditional sweets and exchanged Holi greetings. The participation of youth from both Hindu and Muslim communities highlighted the spirit of unity and harmony that festivals like Holi represent.

Through such initiatives, Asian Bridge India continues to engage and empower youth as responsible community members who promote respect, equality, and inclusive social values in their communities.
