Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh | 7 June 2026
On 7 June 2026, Asian Bridge India conducted a Youth Student Group Training Session on Understanding Violence and Gender-Based Violence at its Usmanpura office, Varanasi, under the Youth for Equality Initiative Programme. The session engaged 12 adolescent and youth participants in interactive discussions to strengthen their understanding of physical, emotional, economic, and sexual violence. Through reflection exercises and group activities, participants explored how violence affects individuals and communities and recognized the importance of promoting respect, equality, and non-violence.
The participants also discussed the different forms of violence experienced by women and girls from diverse backgrounds, including child brides, widows, women with disabilities, transgender women, and other marginalized groups. The session encouraged young people to challenge stereotypes, speak out against discrimination, and become agents of positive social change. By the end of the training, participants demonstrated a stronger commitment to promoting gender equality, protecting human dignity, and creating safer and more inclusive communities.
