The event was part of the ongoing 16-Day Campaign. A vibrant group of 70 enthusiastic young participants came together to make the evening truly meaningful.

Interactive Discussion:
A thoughtful dialogue was held on the Fundamental Rights, Duties, and the significance of Constitutional values in our daily lives.

Community Kitchen (Sajha Chulha):
Youth participants took the lead in setting up a shared community kitchen. They brought grains, vegetables, spices, and dry wood from their homes and cooked together—breaking all barriers of caste, religion, and gender. Sharing this collectively cooked meal fostered a strong sense of unity and cooperation.

Flame of Change:
Through a symbolic activity, each participant lit a piece of wood, contributing to a collective “Flame of Change,” symbolizing their commitment to building a better and more just society.

The programme aimed to strengthen young people’s understanding of secularism, unity, and brotherhood, while nurturing leadership qualities among them. We are delighted that the event succeeded in achieving these objectives! Let us all embrace the values enshrined in our Constitution and work together to build a just, inclusive, and harmonious society.

Training Adolescent Boys on Gender Sensitivity and Non-Violent Masculinity https://asianbridgeindia.org/2024/09/03/we-should-leverage-existing-asserts-that-ladder/ https://asianbridgeindia.org/2024/09/03/we-should-leverage-existing-asserts-that-ladder/#respond Tue, 03 Sep 2024 10:17:00 +0000 http://cherito-demo.local/?p=822 On 3rd September 2024, Asian Bridge India, with support from Shadhika, conducted a thought-provoking gender training session with adolescent boys at Children Academy School, Salarpur, Panchkosi Road, Varanasi. The workshop focused on critical issues such as gender-based violence, masculinity, and patriarchy, encouraging boys to reflect on how societal norms and media influence their perception of manhood.

Led by Mohammad Moosa Azmi and Neeti, the session engaged 25 young participants in open discussions around toxic masculinity and the pressures of conforming to dominant male stereotypes. Through reflective questioning—such as why certain film actors are admired and whether violence is glorified—the boys were guided to reimagine masculinity rooted in empathy, respect, and emotional intelligence. The session empowered them to resist harmful socialization and instead choose to become sensitive, respectful individuals who contribute positively to society.

The session aimed to raise awareness among both women and men about the different forms of violence that occur within families and communities, often remaining hidden or unaddressed. Through interactive discussions and participatory methods, the training encouraged individuals to recognize signs of abuse, break the silence around violence, and actively support those affected. Special emphasis was placed on the role of men not only as allies but also as key participants in creating safer and more respectful environments. The initiative fostered a collective understanding of gender justice, challenged traditional norms that perpetuate inequality, and empowered community members to take action against violence in all its forms. This training reflects Asian Bridge India’s strong commitment to promoting gender equality and building inclusive, violence-free communities through grassroots education and sustained engagement.
