Why Education
Children from poor and marginalized communities in India continue to face systemic barriers in accessing quality education. Factors such as poverty, caste-based exclusion, child labor, lack of parental awareness, and inadequate schooling infrastructure contribute to high dropout rates and learning gaps. Without intervention, these children are often denied their fundamental Right to Education (RTE), limiting their potential and perpetuating cycles of poverty.
Asian Bridge India (ABI) works to ensure inclusive and equitable education by:
- Running the Varanasi Ashram School for underserved children
- Conducting education awareness drives in urban and rural slums
- Identifying and enrolling out-of-school children into mainstream schools
- Training teachers in inclusive, child-friendly teaching practices
- Strengthening family and community engagement in children’s education
