No work can be done alone. The more dedicated people we met, the more we learn from each other and enrich each other’s work. We collaborate with many diverse organisations that have one thing in common: They have a heart for the marginalized.

Basic Human Needs Canada
Basic Human Needs is a non-profit striving to break the cycle of poverty by providing education, scholarship opportunities, and free healthcare to marginalized communities in Varanasi. With their support, we facilitate a health care program for people living in a camp close to the Ganges river.

KatKatha Puppet Arts Trust, Delhi
KatKatha is a Delhi-based puppet theatre company that works for social justice and conflict resolution. Their series of videos on gender and domestic violence are an outstanding example of using arts for creating awareness. We were able to organize screenings and follow-up discussions in 10 villages with altogether 1000 participants.

Quest Alliance, India
Quest Alliance has been one of our first partners to support us. With their help, wewere able to establish a Youth Ressource Centre in 2015. “My Quest, my Career” was a two-year program in which we were able to coach and mentor around 380 young people.

Damini Germany
The team of Damini Education collaborates with ABI to strengthen our Education department. They provide free of cost teacher capacity building, support the running of our Varanasi Ashram school, and help us professionalize our work.

K-Green Foundation, Korea
The K-Green Foundation has been our first partner to support us. With their dedicated help, the kids of our Varanasi Ashram School planted around 500 trees in their villages.

Shadika USA
Through global philantrophy, Shadika invests in the “transformative power inherent in each individual girl”. They support us in reaching our common goal of working locally to change power imbalances. Because of their commitment, we are able to engage with young men in four rural communities, seven inter-colleges and five B.Ed. colleges to end gender-based violence.

Learn for Life Varanasi (Italy, Germany, India)
Learn for Life has been a collaborator in the fight for eradicating poverty, gender discrimination and racism since 2020. We started our work together by organising a COVID relief program. After that, every year we faciliate a Winter relief program, in which we distribute blankets to the poorest communities. Also, we run Gender Education classes in the LFL school as well as their Brown Bread Bakery in Varanasi.

Men Engage Alliance, International
Men Engage Alliance is a social change network working to transform patriarchal masculinities. A big part of their work is to “engage men and boys in women’s rights, gender justice, LGBTQI rights, and social justice for all”. Thus, they are the perfect partner for us at ABI, because we also feel that men need to be empowered to be part of the solution, not the problem!

The YP Foundation Delhi
The YP Foundation’s values are very dear to our hearts, too: Feminist, intersectional, and rights-based. Supported by YP, we were able to run the “Access Project”, in which we audited all the medical facilities that are available for adolescents. In the KYBKYR program (“Know your body, know your rights”), we engaged with adolescents and young adults to understand themselves, their body and their rights.
